Jack Wolfskin appoined Markus Baum as its footwear director. He succeeds Jochen Rolle, who has been responsible for the German outdoor company's footwear line the last 11 years and who is leaving Jack Wolfskin for personal reasons. Markus Baum was previously the Adidas brand director for Eastern Europe. In his new role, Markus will report to Elke Stein, CMO at Jack Wolfskin.

Markus Baum (39) studied business administration at the University of Cologne. Following his studies, he worked for Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Munich for four years, where he was mainly concerned with consumer goods, retail and sports and fashion brands. Since 2003 and until his current move, he was employed in various roles for adidas. Whilst there, he also assumed responsibility for the running division within the DACH markets. Following this, he became Marketing Director for the Performance Division for Eastern Europe. In his most recent position and as part of his role as Brand Director in Eastern Europe, Markus Baum was responsible for the marketing management of the adidas brand.

Elke Stein, CMO of Jack Wolfskin said: “Markus is the perfect choice for the position as Footwear Director. He will give our shoe collection a new identity, as well as support efficient implementation of our supply chain. Responsibility for the product and technology sector, as well the collaboration with our suppliers is in excellent hands with him.”

Jack Wolfskin has three product areas: apparel, footwear and equipment. Every year, around 1.5 million pairs of shoes are sold from our footwear range.

“The entire company owes thanks to Jochen Rolle for his work over the past eleven years. He made the footwear division a vital component of our company”, explained Elke Stein.
