Macron reached an agreement to replace Under Armour as the official athletics apparel outfitter of Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), becoming the Italian sportswear brand’s first sponsorship with a U.S. college.
The multi-year partnership will see Macron support all 23 varsity sports programs at the New Jersey-based university, effective July 2026. The partnership comes as the North American market is playing an increasingly central role in Macron’s growth strategy, as demonstrated by the opening of its North American distribution center in Connecticut in 2024.
“Entering the US collegiate sports landscape through this partnership with Fairleigh Dickinson University represents a key milestone for Macron,” said Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. “The United States is a high-potential market for our brand, where our business model, focused on teamwear across every level of the sporting pyramid, finds a natural fit and significant opportunities. This first collaboration reflects our ambition to build a strong and long-lasting presence in North America, and we are proud to begin this journey alongside a prestigious partner such as FDU, supporting student-athletes in achieving excellence through apparel that combines performance with Italian design.”
“We could not be more thrilled to launch this partnership with Macron,” said FDU Senior Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Bradford Hurlbut. “As we moved deeper into this process, it became more and more evident that Macron was the perfect fit for FDU. Their attention to detail, storytelling ability and sleek designs will allow our student-athletes to perform at their best, while representing FDU in a unique and exciting way.”
“Today is a proud and exciting day for our department. Aligning with Macron is about more than apparel; it’s about identity on a global stage,” said Assistant Vice President/Deputy Athletic Director Jason Young. “I want to thank Macron US General Manager Gianluigi Colisi Rossi and Macron US Director of Sales Alan Elgart for their belief in FDU as they enter the collegiate space. Macron brings the global perspective, creativity, and quality needed to help tell our story in a bold and authentic way, and I can’t wait for our community to see what’s to come.”
