GE Energy won a contract to supply PTFE membrane to Italian military garment manufacturers.

GEs waterproof/breathable membrane, known as eVent protective membrane, has been selected by Lovers Srl and Tessitura Majocchi Srl as the preferred waterproof/breathable supplier for the Italian Army.

Lovers has been awarded the contract to supply waterproof/breathable camouflage jackets and pants, and a windproof vest to the Italian Army for the fourth year in a row. The company has supplied 210,000 sets to the army and will deliver 57,600 sets as part of the latest contract. Majocchi has been selected as the lamination provider as part of the contract. GE will supply PTFE membrane to Majocchi. Together, the group of companies will work to produce one of the most waterproof/breathable outfits a soldier can wear.

Along with the Italian army, GE also supplies PTFE membrane to companies supplying the United States military and the Peoples Republic of Korea military.

Lovers was founded in 1979 and won its first tender to supply the Italian Army in 1982. Majocchi was originally founded in 1920 and today focuses on performance fabric lamination technology in three main areas: abrasion resistance and durability, fire and heat resistance, and waterproof and breathable.
