Oregrown Industries, a craft cannabis company in Oregon, has come together with star New Growth Clothing to develop a line of locally manufactured, eco-conscious activewear and outdoor gear. The collaboration is set to launch this fall with knit beanies and performance hoodies, and the company foresees expansion into backpacks and technical gear.

“New Growth is a natural partner for Oregrown as we continue to build out our lifestyle brand,” said Oregrown co-founder Chrissy Hadar, who brings a background in finance and fashion to her role as Oregrown’s brand manager.

Oregrown was founded in 2013, launching its branded apparel online before the company had harvested its first crop of organic cannabis or opened the doors of its flagship dispensary in downtown Bend, OR. Hadar said early sales to customers around the world convinced her that the brand had an appeal beyond cannabis.

“Our customers, whether or not they consume cannabis, are active and motivated. They are out there snowboarding, surfing, skiing, climbing, hiking and mountain biking with their friends,” added Hadar.

Dan Bruton, who founded New Growth Clothing with his brother Derek in 2011, said, “Whether it’s cannabis or clothing, Oregrown is all about doing something great. That’s why they are a perfect fit for us.”
