Interbike said it has sold 88% of the exhibition space for the indoor portion of its 2008 International Bicycle Expo, putting it on pace to meet or exceed last year's record-breaking number of more than 313,000 square feet of net-sold exhibit space.

To ensure it sells the rest, Interbike last week e-mailed a 21-page Exhibiting Information Brochure to cycling companies and organizations that have not yet signed-up or renewed contracts for the 2008 Expo and/or preceding two-day Outdoor Demo. The show will be held at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, September 24-26, 2008).

“In the past two weeks our sales team has confirmed exhibit space for more than 500 exhibitors and sponsorship packages for first time and regular exhibitors, alike, which puts us on track to meet or exceed last year's record-breaking results,” said Andria Klinger, Interbike's sales manager. “With available exhibit space becoming limited, our sales team is focused on working with potential exhibitors who may have overlooked renewing their yearly contract.”

Preliminary sales figures for the OutDoor Demo indicate an increase in exhibit space sales over last year, but Klinger cautioned that it is too early to predict final Outdoor Demo numbers since exhibitors traditionally reserve space for this event later in the season.

Interbike is a unit of Nielsen Business Media, the parent company of the Outdoor Retailer (OR), Action Sports Retailer (ASR), Health+Fitness Business, and Fly Fishing Retailer trade shows.

The 2008 Interbike trade-only events begin with the Outdoor Demo September 22-23, 2008 in Boulder City, followed by the Interbike Expo September 24-26 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, and the OutDoor Demo East October 21-22 at Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island.
