Ibex Outdoor Clothing LLC announced the appointment of Reid Greenberg as Director of E-Commerce and Strategic Marketing. Ibex plans to raise its profile by extending its sponsorships of teams and athletes and by increasing the company’s contact with the outdoor community through grassroots events and its growing Internet community.

Greenberg will work directly with athletes and teams in defined sports and in specific events that will increase Ibex’s visibility in the outdoor industry. Additionally, he will be responsible for leveraging the Ibex Website and the Internet as ways of increasing brand awareness of Ibex by building a community of athletes and people who love Ibex. His first task was the launch of an Ibex blog, which serves, according to Greenberg, “to connect the greater community of Ibex wearers who are passionate about the product and wish to share their thoughts and experiences of the Ibex garments in the outdoors.”

“Reid has many relationships with athletes and teams within the outdoors industry and as a competing athlete he has a clear understanding of their sponsorship needs,” says John Fernsell, Ibex president. “Reid’s previous work experience at eBay and his passion for the outdoors will make his position at Ibex an important role in building our community of Ibex followers that have discovered and understand wool’s performance advantages. Reid will help share his enthusiasm for Ibex and the technical performance of wool through the Internet and with the athletes that love Ibex.”

Greenberg’s professional background includes Manager of North America Customer Support for eBay, Inc. where his responsibilities included team management, account merging, billing, and the design and development of various site features on the eBay website. Greenberg has also been a competitive athlete for over 19 years. He has competed at the national level in; ski racing (both alpine and Nordic), natural bodybuilding, kayaking, running, and adventure racing.

Greenberg received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Vermont, and is currently pursuing an MBA in E-Business at the University of Phoenix.
