Hoka One One welcomed Michael McManus as its senior sports marketing manager. A devotee to the sport and spirit of running, McManus will spearhead Hoka One One’s athlete sponsorships and strategic brand partnerships.

McManus joins Hoka One One from Adidas, where he worked as the senior director of global sports marketing for running. At Adidas, he also was director of go-to-market, director of grass roots running, and manager of specialty sales. McManus started his running career working at specialty running stores and coaching.

“Mike has a wealth of experience and a passion for all aspects of running,” said Lee Cox, director of global marketing. “We have a rapidly growing roster of pro triathletes, track athletes and ultrarunners at Hoka One One and we’re excited to have Mike on board to help us build and support the best athlete team in the business.”

A life-long competitive runner, McManus is a US Masters National Champion in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter races, and most recently won the Masters 50-54 division at the 2015 USATF National Club Cross Country Championships. He holds a 2:22 marathon PR. McManus, originally from the Bay Area, will work in New York City and the field.

“In a really short amount of time, Hoka has attracted some of the highest caliber runners in the world and formed dynamic partnerships,” said McManus. “I love that the brand is young, raw, and making its own rules. Hoka brings something completely fresh, innovative and new to running. The opportunity here is to help steer and grow the team and partnerships in an authentic way.”

Hoka One One is a division of Deckers Brands (NYSE:DECK).
