Hohenstein Institute, which specializes in certifying textiles meet national and international standards, celebrated the grand opening of Hohenstein Laboratories Hong Kong LTD Dec. 9.

The facility will be headed by Dr. Manfred Hirning and the laboratory operations will be managed by Dr. Christopher Au.

“Our new labs in Hong Kong will significantly increase the level of service we can provide our many clients in Asia,” said Dr. Mecheels. “Hohenstein continues to expand to ensure that we are accessible in every major textile market in the world.” The new Hong Kong laboratory will serve the important textile markets in Southeast Asia and China. Full accreditation under DIN EN ISO 17025 is expected early in 2012.

The facility will specialize in testing product performance, product composition in accordance with the Textile Labeling Act, and reactions to textile care treatments.

The Hong Kong facility is the 36th Hohenstein has opened-and the 14th in Asia-and extends Hohenstein’s presence to 32 countries globally. Hohenstein Laboratories Hong Kong is located in the Hong Kong Science Park at 1/F Biotech Centre 1, No. 9, Science Park West Avenue, Shatin, N. T., Hong Kong.
