Hind, a division of Saucony, Inc., has been named “Fleet Feet Apparel Vendor of the Year” for the second time in three years. Fleet Feet announced the award at its 2005 Regional Apparel Conference in Durham, North Carolina on January 6th.

The award, first presented to Hind in 2002, recognizes an apparel vendor for their overall contribution to the growth and success of Fleet Feet’s apparel business over the past year. The conference brought together Fleet Feet franchisees from the eastern United States with the industry’s leading running apparel manufacturers. Besides Hind, other Fleet Feet apparel vendors attending the conference included Adidas, Asics, Brooks, New Balance, and Nike, among others.

The annual meeting provided a venue for regional store owners and manufacturers to discuss apparel business challenges and opportunities, as well as view new products and finalize merchandise plans for the 2005 fall and winter seasons.

“Hind has clearly established itself as one of the industry’s leading technical apparel brands,” said Jeff Phillips, President of Fleet Feet, Inc. “Hind has excelled as a vendor partner, providing outstanding product, customer service, on-time delivery and promotions.”

The award was presented to Brian Enge, senior vice president and general manager of Hind. “Hind is extremely honored to be presented with this award,” said Enge. “It signifies our ability to service the running specialty channel in an effective and profitable manner, leading by product and service. Fleet Feet is an integral part of Hind’s continued business and brand growth,” added Enge.
