Hillsound Equipment, the maker of adventure and fishing traction equipment and gaiters for urban and outdoor enthusiasts, will sponsor the 13th annual Iron Knee, Tender Knee Trail Race in North Vancouver. The multi-distance, point-to-point competition will have two race distance options including a 27K Iron Knee race that begins in Cleveland Park and a 14K Tender Knee race that begins at the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve.

Named the chocoholic’s dream race, competitors have the option to stop at the five aid stations including one that will be serving chocolate cake and cookies. Throughout the competition, participants will race on scenic North Vancouver trails ultimately leading them to the Deep Cove shore. In addition, racers will have the chance to win products from Hillsound Equipment including traction devices and gaiters.

Upon registering for the race, participants will have the opportunity to donate to North Shore Rescue, a volunteer community-based search and rescue team located in Vancouver. The organization performs approximately 90 search and rescue operations annually and is the oldest search and rescue team in Canada.

“We are so excited to be part of the Iron Knee, Tender Knee Trail Race,” said Hillsound Equipment Marketing Manager Jessica Greinke. “We are a company that is dedicated to having fun outdoors, and this race is the perfect example of our company’s nature-loving culture. North Shore Rescue is such an important organization and we are stoked that this race will help support their efforts.”

Additional event sponsors include Alete Sports Hydration, Bremmer Foods, Canada Wide Communications, CLIF Bars, Forerunners, Joe’s Jeans, Moveo Sport and Rehab, Peak Centre, Powered by Chocolate Milk, Trail Runner Magazine, and Waves Coffee Lynn Valley.
