Highgear, a division of Implus, has partnered with Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) as a supporting sponsor of the 2010 Nor'easter, the Northeast outdoor festival.

Taking place September 24 – 26, 2010, at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH, the three-day event will include climbing, cyclocross and trail running with professional athletes, as well as the EMS Climbing School, a volunteer conservation project, a social camping atmosphere for overnight guests, and musical performances from headliners Dr. Dog, !!! (Chk Chk Chk), The Walkment, The Gaslight Anthem and eight other amazing bands.

A portion of the weekend's proceeds will benefit the Conservation Alliance (www.conservationalliance.com), an outdoor advocate group that engages outdoor businesses to help protect and conserve threatened wild places for their habitat and recreation values.

In addition to providing hands-on product demonstrations to competitors and other festival attendees, Highgear will also provide the official time keeping equipment for the Nor'easter Cyclocross competition, the Fun Run, and other trail running activities that will take place during the weekend. Altitude gains tracked by Highgear altimeters will be incorporated into event race courses as well.

“The Nor'easter draws an amazing crowd of outdoor enthusiasts from the New England area for a unique experience that also focuses on conservation,” says Mike Hosey, Founder and VP of Sales for Highgear. “We are proud to be a part of such a great event and to support our friends at EMS as well.”

“This year the Nor'easter is particularly special,” said Will Manzer, CEO of Eastern Mountain Sports. “We all got a deep reality check in 2009 about what's important. The Nor'easter is a celebration of coming together to celebrate music, sport and conservation. This year we will truly appreciate our heritage, we will be enlivened by the music, we will live and embrace the sport and, most importantly, we will do everything we can to conserve our outdoor playground. There is no other festival like it, anywhere!”
