High Sierra Sport Company, a manufacturer of bags and travel luggage,  promoted Joann DePasquale to vice president of sales of luggage and sporting goods division. It also announced the appointment of Javier Solis as senior product designer.

DePasquale will now oversee High Sierra's luggage and sporting goods divisions.  She will have a strategic role to help grow the company's business at all levels and categories of retail.

“DePasquale has been a tremendous asset in building our department store, office store and specialty luggage business over the past several years,” said Bryan Kinsley, sr. vice president and chief operating officer for High Sierra Sport Company. “We are very confident that she can apply the same skill set in building our brand presence within the sporting goods arena as well.”

Solis joins High Sierra as senior product designer. He recently worked at New Balance as creative director for their growing lifestyle brand, PF-Flyers. At the same time, also designing top-level technical footwear dedicated to the hardcore elite runner, for NBx. Prior to that, he worked in a variety of categories including kids, walking, outdoor and performance running. Solis has a Master's degree in Product Design from the Academy of Art University and was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“I'm really excited to be back in the Midwest working for High Sierra, and ready to build on the success of the company,” said Solis.

High Sierra Sport's line includes backpacks, duffels and wheeled luggage.
