Hi-Tec Sports, the outdoor outdoor footwear and apparel brand, is celebrating the grand opening of its new corporate headquarters located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.  The company, which  ad been headquartered in London, England for 30 years. 

 

Joined by his entire family and more than 400 guests, Chairman and Founder Frank van Wezel presided over the May 9 opening ceremony, which featured a fashion show and dance performance.

“Hi-Tec is extremely proud of its heritage and business foundations,” said van Wezel. “We are a dedicated and passionate brand that refuses to sit still and rest on its laurels. In order for Hi-Tec to continue to be nimble and to stay ahead of trends in the marketplace, we have relocated our headquarters.  This highly creative and inspirational work environment, which is centrally located and easily accessible, will ensure that the Global Product Development and Marketing teams can easily drive our brand forward.”

Immediately following the event, Hi-Tec debuted its Spring / Summer 2012 collection for delegates attending from the company’s subsidiaries, distributors and sales teams from over 80 countries. This is the first complete collection designed by Hi-Tec’s new Creative Director Charles Willis and his Global Product Development team.  The collection, whose reception has been extremely positive, will be on display at the forthcoming Friedrichshafen (Frankfurt, Germany) and Outdoor Retailer (Salt Lake City, UT) shows this summer.

The event also celebrated the appointment of van Wezel’s son Ed van Wezel, to the position of Hi-Tec’s CEO.  This position was previously held by Frank van Wezel himself, who still remains chairman.   It was also announced that Martin Binnendijk, formally European chief executive, will serve as the new chief finance officer.  This position was previously held by Bob Kaiser, who will now assume the position of chief executive of MAGNUM USA in Modesto, California. Ian Cameron, previously UK sales director, will serve as Hi-Tec UK’s managing director.

On June 15, Hi-Tec USA will celebrate its grand opening event in Portland, OR after recently relocating from Modesto, CA. Global executives, Portland dignitaries and media are scheduled to be in attendance.
