Helly Hansen announced two new appointments to assist with the development of the brand’s baselayer category. Ida Gullhav was hired as a designer and Kristoffer Ulriksen has been promoted to category manager for baselayer and midlayer.

Gullhav, 29 years old, joins the brand with an background in fashion design. Having graduated from the Oslo National Academy of Arts in 2003, she went on to launch her own underwear brand at Oslo Fashion Week the same year. In 2006 her continued success was recognised by the Norwegian magazine, Henne, as she was awarded with the prestigious title of Norway’s Best Fashion Designer.

Since joining Helly Hansen, Ida has been working closely with the rest of the design team to develop the brand’s baselayer category. In particular, she is working on the design of a new range of performance baselayer – the Training Collection – which will be launched in spring 2011.

Kristoffer Ulriksen has worked for Helly Hansen since 2004, as Category Manager for the brand’s footwear collection. Kristoffer has now been promoted to Category Manager for Baselayer and Midlayer. Kristoffer will continue to work towards strengthening the Helly Hansen baselayer and midlayer range, with continued focus on design and functionality. He will also be responsible for expanding the baselayer category via new distribution channels and refreshing the collection for 2011.

Emma Russell, UK Marketing Manager for Helly Hansen says, “Helly Hansen is really pleased to have Ida and Kristoffer on board. They both bring with them a wealth of design and product development knowledge, which will help the baselayer and midlayer category to build upon its successes across the watersports, outdoor and snow sectors.”
