Despite a slowdown in sporting equipment sales, Head NV said that customer loyalty has enabled them to drive growth.

Head reported increases in all its product groups with a total of 601,000 pairs of alpine skis sold in 2006, up 5% on 2005; a 4% increase in ski bindings to 1,566,000 sets; and an 11.5% increase in ski boots sold to 650,000 pairs. Within snowboards, 9% more boards were sold in 2006 than in 2005 and boots sold increased 11%. Helmet sales were up 38% worldwide compared with 2005. The company noted that sales growth in 2006 was “particularly encouraging” in Eastern Europe, German-speaking countries, and the U.S.
