Halfords Group plc reported  same-store sales grew 2.0 percent at its Cycling segment and 9.2 percent at its Travel Solutions segment in the fiscal first quarter ended July 3.

The British retailer said Premium Bike sales grew 8 percent and Cycle Repair revenues rose 24 percent. The company owns the Apollo, Carrera, Boardman and 13 Cycles cycling brands, but also sells Kona, Mongoose, Raleigh and Pinarello bicycles.
Growth at Travel Solutions was driven by roof top boxes, cycle carriers, tents and child safety seats.

Halfords operates 368 stores in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, including five Cycle Republic shops.  The company, which only releases sales and other financial figures on a semi-annual basis, reported total revenue from its Retail segment, which includes sales of automotive products, of £875.1 million in the fiscal year ended April 3, 2015.
