Haiku by Sharon Eisenhauer Inc. hired Kristin Merriman as its new director of sales, effective immediately.

Merriman joins Haiku at a time of impressive growth for the company, which makes casual handbags and other accessories for women. The company has experienced double-digit growth over the last several years, and was recently named to the San Francisco Business Times “Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies” list for 2010. The company will unveil its new Fall 2011 collection of bags and travel accessories at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City later this month.

Merriman comes to Haiku from the lifestyle and home decor brand, Serena and Lily, and she has extensive experience in the gift, spa and salon, and electronics industries.

“I was initially drawn to the unique design and style of the Haiku brand, which I believe sets Haiku apart from the other brands in the industry,” said Merriman. “The patterns and colors are fresh and style driven.”

Merriman’s initial goals for Haiku are to grow and expand market share, and to grow brand awareness. “It's a pivotal time at Haiku as we explore new and exciting technologies that adhere to our core values,” Merriman adds.

“I am really excited to have finally located someone we feel is a great fit for the Haiku brand and our values,” said Sharon Eisenhauer, Haiku owner and design director. “We look forward to having Kristin direct our new sales programs to help us reach new heights.”
