Haiku by Sharon Eisenhauer, Inc., which makes handbags and other functional accessories for women, is relocating its offices from Oakland to Berkeley, CA. and outsourcing distribution to Planet Access Company near Chicago, Ill to accommodate growth. The changes will take place in June 2011.

Haikus decision to outsource its order fulfillment to Planet Access Company is key to the companys plan for growth. Planet Access Companys warehouse staff is highly seasoned, with 50+ years of experience in the third party logistics industry. Haiku and Planet Access share common social messages of giving to create stronger business practices. The partnership will give Haiku the ability to provide customers with a higher level of service and better overall experience.

This is a big step for Haiku, and we are excited to partner with Planet Access Company to continue to provide our customers with exceptional service, said Sharon Eisenhauer, owner and designer of Haiku. We chose Planet Access in part due to excellent referrals, but also because of their training of developmentally disabled people in order to get them back in the work force.

Since Haiku no longer needs space for its warehouse in Oakland, Eisenhauer is relocating the Haiku offices in California to a Gold-certified LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building in North Berkeley. Haikus move into a LEED Certified building is in line with the companys mission of building a business with integrity, and reflects another step towards making a positive change in the community.

The new office space in Berkeley will be christened on, June 28, 2011, when Haiku hosts the Outdoor Industries Womens Coalition (OIWC) Bay Area Network Night.

Were very pleased to be moving into a space that really aligns with Haikus vision, said Eisenhauer. Were confident that the new changes are moving us in the direction of achieving our mission and goals for the company.
