Gymshark has appointed Shaun Perkinson as chief technology officer. He replaces John Douglas, who is retiring after five years with the UK-based fitness apparel brand.

Perkinson brings over 20 years of tech experience to the role. Most recently, Douglas served as chief technology officer at Saudi Arabia’s Al Waha Travel Retailer from September 2025 to July 2026. He previously spent five years as chief technology officer at the British clothing brand Boden between 2019 and 2024 and has also held senior technology roles at Tory Burch and Burberry.

Gymshark Founder and Chief Executive Ben Francis said Perkinson brought “more than 20 years of experience building products and leading technology teams” to the role.

“What really stood out to me was his combination of technical expertise, commercial instinct and collaborative approach,” Francis said on LinkedIn.

“Technology will continue to play a pivotal role in helping us create better experiences for our community and supporting the next stage of our growth. Shaun joins us at an exciting time, and I’m confident we’ll do great things together.”

Francis also recognized outgoing CTO Douglas, who joined Gymshark in 2021.

“I can honestly say Gymshark wouldn’t be where it is today without him,” said Francis. “When John joined Gymshark, we were entering a pivotal stage in our journey. Over the last five years, he’s led our technology function through some of the biggest moments in our growth. He’s helped us scale, navigate complex challenges and set us up for the future.”

In February, Gymshark promoted Carly Natalizia to chief commercial officer, an expanded role from her previous position as chief digital officer.
