Gympass, a platform that helps companies engage their workforce in physical activity by providing access to thousands of fitness facilities, announced its U.S. launch in 12 key markets.

The six-year-old brand, which has seen monthly double-digit growth since 2012 and steady expansion throughout Western Europe and Latin America, is rolling out in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Nashville, St. Louis, Houston, Columbus, Minneapolis and Kansas City, adding 3,000 workout facilities to join its global network of 30,000.

Available as a corporate benefit with flexible, rolling monthly contracts, Gympass provides unlimited access to the world’s largest network of fitness and wellness providers including; gyms, yoga and martial arts studios, boot camps, cycling, dance classes and more. Employees get the ultimate in variety and convenience while their employers enjoy a 50 percent-70 percent subsidy off retail membership prices.

“Multiple studies show that an active workforce is happier, more engaged, makes better decisions and therefore generates a higher return,” says Gympass CEO and co-founder Cesar Carvalho. “Most people know that exercise is good for them, but don’t work out due to their financial situation, or because they haven’t yet found an activity they enjoy. At Gympass, we believe pleasure beats pressure, and the more access to options you are able to offer, the more likely a program is to succeed.”

This U.S. expansion comes as the latest evolution in Gympass’ global ambition to reduce inactivity. Already spanning 5,000 cities in 13 countries, Gympass has helped millions of employees find over 700 fitness and wellness activities at over 30,000 facilities. Corporate partners overseas include: P&G, Metlife, PayPal, Accenture and Deloitte, with many looking to extend to the U.S.

Carvalho continues: “By introducing over 700 different types of fitness activities, Gympass has set out to make fitness more accessible and enjoyable to everyone. We work side-by-side with our corporate partners to increase participation, communicate with employees and offer transparent analytics and consultation to help companies achieve a best possible return on their investment.”
