GSI Outdoors appointed Maddy Scott as head of marketing. Scott was at Prana for nearly eight years where she most recently led the brand’s on-site consumer experience, end-to-end seasonal e-commerce launches and promotional strategy, while driving strategic site initiatives and cross-functional projects spanning marketing, creative, merchandising and customer service teams.

“GSI has built an incredible legacy over the past forty years, with great products, strong relationships and a genuine connection to the outdoor community,” said Scott. “At such an exciting time for the company, I’m honored to step into this role and help carry that legacy forward. I look forward to expanding our reach, elevating how we tell the GSI story and creating new ways for people to connect with the brand.”

Prior to Prana, Scott was on the social media team at Nixon, managing the brand’s global social channels, building the reporting framework behind its social KPIs, and coordinating campaigns including a global scavenger hunt that generated more than three million impressions.

Scott will lead GSI’s marketing team, overseeing brand strategy, digital and e-commerce marketing, content, and consumer engagement.

“We are really excited to have Maddy take the reins as our new head of marketing at GSI Outdoors,” said Shawn Hostetter, chief executive officer of GSI Outdoors. “Her experience with Prana has prepared her well to lead GSI’s marketing strategy and team. We are confident in Maddy’s ability to strengthen and expand GSI’s marketing as we take GSI Outdoors to the next level.”
