Gregory Mountain Products signed on as a sponsor of the 2011 Red Rock Rendezvous presented by Mountain Gear.

Located just west of Las Vegas, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is renowned as one of the nation’s premiere climbing areas with world-class routes for climbers of all ability levels ranging from bouldering and limestone sport climbing to multi-pitch traditional climbs. Likewise, the festival offers clinics for climbers of all levels, including introductory courses for aspiring newbies hoping to learn the basics of the sport, while meeting prospective climbing partners.

In addition to clinics, gear demos, slideshows, music and revelry, Gregory will be onsite in the vendor arena to answer any technical questions about their packs. Attendees are encouraged to stop by the Gregory booth to get fit for a Gregory pack and enter to win one of several pack giveaways, including the new Torre™ 33, which was in part designed by pro-climber and Gregory ambassador, Joe Kinder.

Kinder’s Rendezvous clinic will focus on Intermediate Sport Climbing, and will cover clipping, onsights, redpoints, and different ways to work a route for optimal performance.

In addition to celebrating the climbing lifestyle, the Rendezvous benefits The Access Fund, a national non-profit organization dedicated to keeping climbing areas open and conserving the climbing environment. Other beneficiaries include the American Safe Climbing Association, the American Alpine Club, Friends of Red Rocks and the Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council.

“Red Rock Rendezvous has a longstanding tradition that Gregory is proud to support,” said John Pieper, North American sales and marketing director with Gregory. “As a pack company, it’s an honor to give something back to the climbing community while benefiting this great cause, and we’re looking forward to being part of the action.”
