The Governors Challenge, the largest holiday basketball tournament in the country that’s held in Salisbury, MD, announced a new partnership with Under Armour.

Under Armour has been named as the official performance brand of the Governors Challenge. The global performance brand will supply tournament t-shirts for all players and coaches participating in the event, and all games will be played with Under Armour basketballs.

“The Governors Challenge is thrilled to partner with Under Armour,” said tournament director James Simmons. “This partnership takes the Governors Challenge to the next level.”

In addition to Governors Challenge gear, coaches and athletic directors will have direct access to Under Armour representatives during the tournament to consult about uniforms and performance gear for their teams.

“We are honored that Under Armour – one of the top performance brands in the world – has recognized the Governors Challenge as an event worthy of their support,” said Simmons. “This partnership will provide players with an experience that is second to none.”

The fan experience will also be enhanced as a result of the partnership, as all Governors Challenge merchandise will be Under Armour brand.

Now in its 39th year, the Governors Challenge is the largest holiday basketball tournament in the country. Organizers are forecasting that 124 teams will compete in this year’s event, which is slated to take place December 26-31 at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center and surrounding facilities.
