GoLite and Eastern Mountain Sports have joined forces in the sport of adventure racing, introducing Team GoLite/EMS at the 2003 Subaru Primal QuestÒ adventure race this weekend in Lake Tahoe, California. Comprised of some of the world’s most experienced professional adventure racers, the team will be one of 100 co-ed teams competing in a 400+ mile adventure race taking place over ten days, from September 5th-14th. The Subaru Primal Quest will be 2003’s largest televised expedition race, with prime time coverage on CBS to air in 2004, immediately following the network’s NFL Play-Off coverage.

“Being able to partner with a retailer with as strong a reputation as EMS is a privilege,” said GoLite Co-Founder and CEO, Kim Coupounas, “and the best part is being able to support these world-class athletes in their bid to win this year’s Subaru Primal QuestÒ.”

“An experienced adventure racing team that brings together EMS, one of America’s most respected retailers, and GoLite, the outdoor company that is driving the “fast & light” trend, is a winning combination,” said Ted Manning, a senior buyer at EMS.
