The GolfWorks has finalized an agreement with Mitsubishi Rayon Corporation Composite Products for the exclusive catalog distribution of the Diamana shaft line.

Mitsubishi Rayon Corporation (MRC) produces graphite golf shafts for professional golfers, major golf club OEMs and amateur golfers. For Diamana, MRC has customized its resin formulas and fibers to create high-performance materials unavailable to other shaft manufacturers.

“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with The GolfWorks on our initial product launch in the United States,” says Mark Gunther, National Sales Director of MRCP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Rayon. “The time is right to increase our market presence and create a team of partners to launch our first-ever aftermarket shaft into the United States, and we are excited about the opportunity to have The GolfWorks as a partner on this initiative.”

“We’re very excited to team up with MRC to offer the Diamana series to custom clubmakers,” says Britt Lindsey, vice president of technical services at The GolfWorks. “Mitsubishi Rayon is well-known in the industry for its make-it-from-scratch approach to golf shaft engineering. Not only does Mitsubishi manufacture the golf shaft, but they manufacture all the raw materials, including the monomer, acrylic fiber, carbon fiber, resin and prepreg. They have complete control over the entire process and can make any combination of resin and fiber required to optimize a shaft’s design and performance characteristics. This unique materials and manufacturing advantage makes the new Diamana a very exciting custom-fitting option for high-performance graphite shafts.”

The GolfWorks and MRCP are also pleased to announce the formation of the Key Account Program. This program will create a limited number, and exclusive network of professional and qualified partners to ensure the same level of effort is put into meeting customer demands as MRC puts into its finished products.
