With the opening of two new stores in Charlotte and Greensboro,  Golfsmith is now North Carolinas largest golf merchant. The two new stores are in Charlotte and Greensboro.

Size and locations of the new stores are as follows:
·         Charlotte: The 26,043 square foot store is located at 9571 South Boulevard in Carolina Pavilion.
·         Greensboro: The 24,935 square foot location is on 4217 Wendover Avenue at The Shoppes at Wendover Village.

Golfsmith will give away more than $7,500 in free prizes including a $1,000 shopping spree at each new store during the grand opening celebrations March 15th, 16th and 17th, 2013.

The new experiential Charlotte and Greensboro stores each have four high-tech, golf simulators where customers can experience the latest equipment right in the store. Each store also has an expansive indoor putting green so golfers can work on their short game with the latest putters. The new stores also feature GolfTEC, a state-of-the-art in-store improvement center, with PGA teaching professionals and certified coaches to help golfers improve their game.

North Carolina is a huge golf destination and Golfsmith is a golfers paradise. So were thrilled to expand our footprint to golfers that live here or visit these areas to play the game. Whether you are a scratch golfer or someone looking to get into the game for the first time, we offer the best selection of the biggest brands in a truly unique environment, said Golfsmith Internationals President and CEO Sue Gove. Todays hi-tech clubs offer more features than ever like adjustable loft and shot shape options. In fact, we have trained our associates as Adjustability Experts for the kickoff of the season. Our people are the best and combine their passion for the game with their expertise to help all our customers find the right gear.

In addition to clubs, balls, shoes, tees and other golf essentials from brands like Titleist, PING, Callaway, TaylorMade, Cobra, PUMA, Nike Golf, Mizuno and more, Golfsmith offers a wide selection of authentic golf apparel brands and fashions not found in a typical department or discount store. Golfers will also find the latest hi-tech accessories such as GPS units, swing analyzers and rangefinders.

The new stores are part of a continued growth strategy by Golfsmith that is bucking an industry trend of golf store closures. According to the National Golf Foundation,  almost half of all golf stores in America closed in the last decade. The Texas-based golf retailer will continue its expansion in 2013 with eight other new stores planned throughout the US.
