Golf World’s list of the “100 Best Golf Shops for 2009” included 11 PGA Tour Shops locations, eight Tournament Players Clubs shops and four Edwin Watts Golf shops as well as number of single-store locations across the country. The consumer magazine noted that in the 12 months prior to the contest deadline, the 100 top on-and off-course golf shops chalked up nearly $237 million in sales.

Golf World said it judged based in rankings on three criteria: (1) revenue per square foot/per round; (2) shop appearance/layout, using supplied photos; and (3) articulation of successful promotions and recent initiatives within the last year. Winners also submitted financial statements, photographs and an essay.
