According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds for the U.S. were down 21.6% in February 2010 compared to February 2009.
 
Public Access play was down 20.9% for the month and private course activity was down 23.4%.  A total of 2915 courses are represented in this report.

There can be no doubt that the tumultuous winter season has plagued parts of the east coast in terms of golf rounds played. By region, the biggest decline came in the Mid-Atlantic, -85.9%%; followed by New England, -80.0%; West North Central, -79.6%; East North Central, -72.9%; South Central, -48.5%; South Atlantic, -23.8%; and Mountain, -6%.

The only positive region which saw any gain was the Pacific which experienced a 2.9% gain.
