According to a survey by Golf Datatech, golf rounds played jumped 17.1 percent in May. For the year-to-date period, golf round are ahead 20.0 percent.

By region in May, the biggest regional gains were seen in Mountain 21.8 percent; West North Central, 32.5 percent; East North
Central, 56.3 percent; New England, 34.1 percent; and Mid-Atlantic, 37.7
percent. More modest gains were seen in the South Atlantic, 1.9 percent; South Central, 8.2 percent; and Pacific, 0.8 percent.

Public access play was up 18.9 percent and private course activity was up 10.9 percent. There were 3,760 contributing golf courses used in this report.
