According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played increased 1.2 percent in September. The gains by region led by Mountain, up 4.2 percent; West North Central, 2.1 percent; and Mid Atlantic, 2.0 percent.

Gains were also seen in Pacific, 1.1 percent; and New England, 1.3 percent. Declines were seen in South Atlantic, off 0.4 percent and South Central, down 3.3 percent.

Public access play was up 1.7 percent and private course activity was down 0.9 percent.  

The total US 2015 year to date comparison is up 0.7 percent.
