According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds for the US were down 0.8% in December 2010 compared to December 2009 and down 2.3% for the year.
Public access play was down 0.1% for the month and private course
activity was down 2.5%. A total of 3085 courses are represented in
this report.
Gains in December came in West North Central, up 60.6%; South Central, up 43.1%, and Mountain, 16%. Declines came in East North Central, 62.5%; South Atlantic, 13.9%; Mid Atlantic, 16.9%; New England, 22.6%; and Pacific, 12.3%.
