Jeff Deffenbaugh, former WCT Pro Surfer, has joined Global Surf Industries as their Californian territory manager. Deffenbaugh brings to the role a wide knowledge of surfboards through his history with competitive surfing, coaching and working in the industry.
GSIs founder, Mark Kelly, said When we advertised this role we had over a hundred and fifty applications. The selection process was very hard due to the number of quality candidates. After a number of rounds of interviews Jeff came out on top as the perfect fit for GSI and our customers because of his knowledge, his empathy with retailers, his understanding of the service levels that GSI operates at and his passion for being in the water. Jeff truly understands our company mantra Life is better when you surf because he lives it everyday. It was a pleasure to be able to offer Jeff the job I am sure our customers will benefit from him being in the role.
Deffenbaugh said It was an honour to make the final cut for sure. I am stoked. The latest two weeks have involved massive learnings as I got the hand over from Alex Pappas who is leaving the role. There is a lot more going on at GSI than the outsider can see. I am stoked to be part of this company. The future is pretty bright right now.
