G.I. Joe’s has joined with SelfService Systems, Inc. in a partnership that will expand the use of the successful Team G.I. Joe’s certified fishing and hunting guide program through AdventuresExpress.com, a new online outdoor travel and gear sales portal.

The Team G.I. Joe’s certified guide program is comprised of 40 of the leading fishing and hunting guides in Oregon and Washington. In order to participate and be certified in the G.I. Joe’s program, guides need to meet a high level of experience, quality service and insurance criteria.

“We’re excited to introduce AdventuresExpress as the new online marketplace for outdoor activity operators and for consumers,” says Ron Menconi, Vice President of Merchandise and Marketing for G.I. Joe’s. “We see this relationship as an excellent way to make it easier for our customers to connect with our certified guides, and to make sure everyone has the right gear.”

“With G.I.Joe’s marketing support we will drive a lot of consumer traffic to AdventuresExpress.com and then, close the sale with online booking and payment tools from SelfService Systems,” says Larry McLean, president of SelfService Systems.

“We will help keep business operators and clients on the same page through email order confirmations and text-messages to cell phones that are sent automatically when an order is booked online. Many business operators are using these automatic communication features to set up packages with like-minded partners. Now we can help sell a hotel room, along with a fishing trip, and use email/text message to let everyone know when the business has been booked and paid for. Our current focus is helping the grass-roots tourism operator, the backbone of Northwest tourism industry, transition to the Internet economy, because this is where their customers are.”
