Gerflor, based in Lyons, France, has acquired Gared Performance Sports Systems (GPSS), the maker of institutional sports and gym equipment based in Noblesville, IN.
Terms were not disclosed.
Gerflor, with U.S. headquarters in Bolingbrook, IL, specializes in commercial, healthcare, and sports flooring solutions. In the athletics space, its products include modular snap-together outdoor athletic tiles, including Sport Court PowerGame+ for multi-sport outdoor courts and play areas,, alongside indoor cushioned vinyl sports surfaces like Taraflex used in gymnasiums and international competitions.
Founded in 1922, Gared Performance Sports Systems’ product range includes ceiling-hung and wall-mounted basketball backstops, basketball backboards and breakaway rims, soccer goals, football goalposts, outdoor aluminum batting cages for baseball and softball, volleyball systems, tennis posts, pickleball equipment, badminton setups, gym divider curtains, custom wall and post safety padding, mat storage carrier systems, bleachers and team benches.
GPSS said the combination brings “together two global organizations that share a commitment to innovation, quality and serving the sports and athletic facility industry.”
GPSS commented, “By combining Gerflor’s expertise with GPSS’s century-long legacy in athletic equipment, we are strengthening our ability to provide more complete solutions for sports facilities while continuing to invest in the products, service, and support you expect.”
