Gear 2000 has reached an agreement to settle its patent infringement lawsuit against Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. The settlement provides for the dismissal of the pending patent litigation without prejudice.

Although Rawlings admits no liability, Rawlings acknowledges the validity of Gear 2000’s patent for its Z-Cool football shoulder pads. To avoid any dispute as to infringement, Rawlings has agreed to change the design of its accused Spartan shoulder pad. In addition, Rawlings has paid Gear 2000 an undisclosed royalty plus attorneys fees in connection with this matter.

Gear 2000 has now reached settlement with three sporting goods companies concerning its patented technology; each includes the payment of a royalty and acknowledgment of validity of Gear 2000’s patent.
