Global Brand Marketing, Inc. announced the appontment of John McCluskey to Senior Director of Sports Marketing for GBMI, with primary focus on premier athletic brand Pony International, LLC.

“John has an extensive sports marketing background and will no doubt be a tremendous asset to Pony’s sports marketing program,” said Killick Datta, Chief Executive Officer of Global Brand Marketing, Inc. “Pony’s heritage is first and foremost as an athletic brand, and we look forward to John building the sports division with an impressive stable of world class athletes.”

Prior to joining GBMI, Mr. McCluskey was Founder and Co-Owner of 11e Sports Marketing LLC, a sports promotions consulting firm. Previously, Mr. McCluskey served for several years as the Director of International Promotions for Reebok International, Ltd, and prior to that as Manager of US Athlete Promotions for Puma USA. He has also worked for ISL Marketing in Switzerland and the American Consulting Corp.

Currently PONY features an athletic program for soccer, basketball, cricket and boxing. It plans to enter several sports such as Baseball and Football where PONY has a great heritage. In soccer, PONY sponsors several national teams, select pro clubs from around the world and U.S. college power UCSB. The brand also boasts several world champion boxers including Manny Pacquiao and James Toney, as well as global cricket star Glenn McGrath from Australia, among its endorsers. The brand also looks forward to its return to the NBA courts for the 2005-06 season later this year.

Mr. McCluskey will be based in the corporate offices in Santa Barbara, CA.
