Garmin International restructured its consumer sales and marketing department to take advantage of the growing popularity of its integrated GPS devices among consumers of all types.

Garmin has created three Senior Manager positions to further support its dealer and distribution network and to take advantage of quickly developing marketing and sales opportunities. One position will oversee the company's marine and recreation business, another will manage mobile and automotive OEM business, and a third will coordinate Garmin's national accounts. All three managers will report to Dan Bartel, Director of Recreation and Consumer Sales.

“These new positions will allow us to better serve our rapidly expanding consumer markets,” said Bartel. “As Garmin continues to pioneer new GPS applications — like our automotive, fitness, Marine Network, and PDA categories — it's increasingly important for us to have a group of managers that can devote their full attention to serving and growing these areas of our business.”

Greg DeVries has been promoted to Senior Sales and Marketing Manager – Marine and Recreation. His primary duties will include supporting Garmin's Regional Sales Managers and developing a strategic marketing plan to increase the distribution of Garmin's marine and recreation products.
