Gap, Inc., the parent of Athleta, Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic, has hired former Levi Strauss & Co. executive Jeffrey Hogue as its new chief sustainability officer.

Hogue joined Levi Strauss as chief sustainability officer in July 2020, after six years leading sustainability at apparel retailer C&A. Earlier in his career, he worked for McDonald’s and Danish specialty food ingredient company Danisco.

His hiring at Gap was disclosed by Sally Gilligan, chief supply chain & transformation officer at Gap, Inc., on LinkedIn. The post read, “Thrilled to welcome Jeffrey Hogue to Gap Inc. as our new chief sustainability officer.

“As we continue our work to bridge gaps and create a better world, Jeff will lead our efforts across climate and equity, helping advance meaningful impact for our business, our communities, and the people we serve. He will also serve on the Gap Foundation Board, supporting our commitment to creating opportunities and strengthening communities around the world. Jeff brings deep global experience from organizations including Levi Strauss & Co., C&A, and McDonald’s, along with a proven track record of advancing sustainability through business leadership, partnership, and innovation.”
