Gant will take its footwear operations in-house “as part of its continued focus on strengthening the brand and business over time.” The U.S.-founded, Sweden-based brand will conclude its licensing agreement with Hamm Footwear GmbH, effective from the Spring/Summer 2027 season.
With the establishment of Gant Footwear AB, footwear operations will be consolidated under Gant’s ownership, giving the brand closer control over the category and reinforcing how footwear is developed and integrated into Gant’s overall brand and commercial offer. Gant Footwear AB, registered in Sweden and led by managing director Sophie Öhrström, will manage all the operations, including product development, sourcing, logistics, and distribution.
Until the end of the Fall/Winter 2026 season, Hamm Footwear GmbH will continue to oversee the footwear category.
“Bringing footwear in-house is an important step in strengthening Gant as a premium lifestyle brand and business as a whole,” said Fredrik Malm, Gant’s Chief Executive Officer. “This setup enables us to further refine how footwear is developed over time, with a clear focus on quality, consistency, and long-term category development.”
Fredrik Malm became CEO of Gant in December, after joining as EVP of commercial, brand & product in September 2024. He succeeds Patrik Söderström, who led the company for six years.
