Gander Mountain Company announced three additional new outdoor lifestyle specialty stores to open in the fall of 2006. The company previously announced two openings for the fall. These additional stores will complete the company’s plan to open eight new stores in 2006.

The new stores, scheduled to open in September and October, will be located in the following markets:

Lake Mary, Fla.

Charleston, W.Va.

Knoxville, Tenn.

Huntsville, Ala.

Winchester, Va.

Three of the new stores will be renovations of existing buildings, while two are being built for Gander Mountain. All will have outside selling areas for boats, ATVs and other large items. Each will include an in-store professional gunsmith, a full-service archery shop with shooting lanes and a Gander Lodge meeting space available to local organizations free of charge. The Lake Mary store, located near Orlando, will carry a broad assortment of fishing and recreational boats, in addition to the usual selection of canoes and kayaks. It will also carry SCUBA equipment and an expanded assortment of snorkeling gear as part of Gander Mountain’s partnership with Divers Direct.

“We are excited to be entering four new states in the fall,” said Mark Baker, President and CEO. “All of these new states have large populations of hunting and fishing enthusiasts, and we look forward to fulfilling their demands for high-quality equipment and apparel at great prices. The Winchester store will build on the success of our store in Fredericksburg. In addition, these openings continue our strategy of opening more stores in southern states to increase our geographic diversity.”
