G3 promoted Scott Duer to Global Sales Manager and named Sandy Brown sales representative for the Rockies territory.

Duer, who has worked as North American sales manager for G3 since last fall, will now take on working with the brand’s distributors on an international basis, with an eye toward more comprehensively supporting specialty dealers worldwide and growing G3’s business both domestically and internationally.

Duer has worked in the specialty outdoor and ski industries for more than 20 years, and brings a variety of outdoor sales and retail experience to the post. Prior to G3, Duer worked as Rottefella’s North American Sales Manager, and, before that, was the men’s softgoods merchandise division manager for Park City-based e-tailer Backcountry.com. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a sales representative and partner in the Rockies with Granite Marketing, which represented Alpina Sports, Sierra Designs, Gregory Packs and Horny Toad, among other brands. Duer also worked for many years as director of sales and marketing for Voile, and in late 80s and early 90s worked in outdoor specialty retail.

“With Scott’s deep experience in specialty and ski, his intuitive understanding of retailers’ needs, his wide range of contacts, as well as sales experience on the international level, growing his job at G3 to incorporate sales around the globe was a natural,” said G3 founder and President Oliver Steffen.

In hiring Sandy Brown to cover the states of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, G3 brings on sales representation with 20 years of experience in the territory and in the ski business. Based in Salt Lake City, Brown has won numerous sales awards from a variety of companies, including Timberland and Kelty.

Along with G3, Brown currently represents Zeal Optics, Atomic’s Nordic-skiing line, Pacific Outdoor Equipment, ABS avalanche airbags and Crazy Creek.
