Freewaters, the maker of casual footwear, announces an exclusive partnership with Bruce Brown Films celebrating the 50th anniversary of Brown’s legendary movie, The Endless Summer. Freewaters will debut three men’s sandals featuring the film’s iconic poster art this month at Agenda, Outdoor Retailer and Surf Expo trade shows.

A 60’s cult classic that every surfer dreams to relive, The Endless Summer documents an epic journey of two California surfers, Mike Hynson and Robert August, who hit the open road to follow summer weather and surf around the world.  Originally released in 1964, Brown filmed this “original” surf trip along the unknown roads and beaches of Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii and California.

“Bruce, Robert and Mike helped open the world’s eyes to the amazing waves, people and culture of South Africa almost 50 years ago,” says Freewaters Ambassador, Robert Wingnut Weaver, who starred in the sequel The Endless Summer II.  “Now to be partnering The Endless Summer with Freewaters and their clean drinking water projects in Africa, it has really come full circle.  I’m proud to be a part of both brands.”

The collection features three distinctly different models and price points – a full grain leather version with heat embossed poster art, a printed canvas version and a printed rubber zori.

“This partnership brings something distinctive and totally unique to the market,” adds John Gothard, Freewaters VP of Sales.  “We are honored to be the exclusive Endless Summer footwear brand, and we can’t wait to pull back the curtain on these news sandals at the upcoming summer shows.”
