Foot Locker Opens Fourth House of Hoops in New Jersey; Plans Stores in Europe

Foot Locker opened its fourth House of Hoops store at the Cherry Hill Mall in South Jersey. The location is only the fourth House of Hoops in the U.S. and the first in the suburbs. Other stores are located in Harlem, Chicago and Los Angeles. House of Hoops is rolling out in Europe, with stores set for Oxford Street in London and Les Halles in Paris.

The Cherry Hill mall store is situated in the back of a Foot Locker location while other openings have been stand-alone locations.
“It's a unique concept that will draw new shoppers to our mall,” Lisa Wohlstromer, director of marketing, told the Courier-Post in South Jersey. “House of Hoops gets products nobody else has.”

Launched as a stand-alone store in Harlem in 2007, House of Hoops represents a partnership between Foot Locker and Nike Inc. and features exclusively Nike merchandise. Dedicated to everything basketball, the store features Nike, Jordan, Converse products all under one roof.

According to Courier-Post, Andre Iguodala and Thaddeus Young of the Philadelphia 76ers were brought in for opening ceremonies and they promoted Nike's Hyperize shoe. The Cherry Hill store also includes personalized performance sneakers from Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Lamar Odom, Derek Fisher and Pau Gasol, as well as limited edition Nike Basketball, Air Jordan, and Converse sneakers unavailable elsewhere.
