Foot Locker released its newest commercial featuring NBA center DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins and NFL defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, click to play.

The spot, titled “Make an Impression,” highlights two athletes who have not always made the best impressions in their respective sports.

In the commercial, Cousins and Suh are spotted loading Nike sneakers and apparel into a car after shopping at Foot Locker. Suh reflects on their new gear, telling Cousins that Foot Locker always comes through. Cousins responds saying image is everything and that once people get a certain impression, it can be hard for them to see past it. Both athletes agree, noting the ongoing narrative that paints them as “difficult” or “selfish,” when in reality, if they are guilty of anything it is caring too much. As they continue to walk, they pass a number of people in precarious situations, too engrossed in their own conversation to notice or offer help.

“Suh and Cousins bring an unparalleled passion and competitive edge to the game in their respective leagues,” said Stacy Cunningham, vice president of brand marketing and services at Foot Locker North America. “While no one is perfect, their style and dedication to the game are second to none, making them a natural fit for Foot Locker as we look to help our consumers ‘Make an Impression’ this back-to-school season.”

“Just like on the field in the NFL, you’ll see in this commercial I don’t have ‘bad guy’ intentions,” said Suh jokingly.

Cousins nodded in agreement, adding, “A few fouls or techs later and there’s a whole narrative laying out your reputation. Making light of these competitive ‘mishaps’ with Foot Locker and Ndamukong was a lot of fun.”
