Fleet Feet, Inc. announced second quarter sales for its 67 stores were up 26.9% over the same period last year. With $13.5 million in sales, Fleet Feet recorded the first, second and fourth largest sales months in the company’s 28-year history. Comparative store sales were up 18.4% over second quarter 2004.

Sales for the first half of 2005 were up 22.2% over the first half of 2004 with $25 million in sales. Comparative store sales for the six months were up 14.7%.

“Results like this don’t happen without a laser-like focus on servicing our customers,” said Fleet Feet president, Jeff Phillips. “Our vendors are providing timely delivery of high quality products and our franchisees are consistently exceeding their customers’ expectations. Our numbers for 2005 prove this powerful combination really works.”

Three new stores opened during the second quarter in Gaithersburg, Maryland; Kailua, Hawaii; and Elmhurst, Illinois for a total of six new stores this year.

“We were able to celebrate this year’s success at our annual Fleet Feet National Conference last month in Chicago,” explains Phillips. “We put the spotlight on education and our vendor partners at the conference. It’s clear that Fleet Feet owners and vendors are committed to working together on innovative products and programs to acquire new customers and keep them coming back.”
