Fleet Feet Sports' Chicago Franchisee has added Paul Scheuerlein as president of retail, reporting to owner and CEO, Dave Zimmer. Scheuerlein, 55, will also be responsible for operations and business development and will serve as the company’s general counsel. Fleet Feet Sports Chicago currently operates three retail stores, two in the City of Chicago and one in Elmhurst, Illinois and produces five races in Chicago.

Zimmer says that Scheuerlein will help with the growing demands on the shoe retailer.  “As our retail division continues to grow and get more complex each day, Paul’s leadership, professionalism and uncanny sense of customer service positions us for continued growth,” said Zimmer.

The addition of Scheuerlein will allow Zimmer to redirect his efforts to implementing the Fleet Feet Sports national franchise programs and to exploring the many business opportunities in the evolving landscape of specialty running retail and race management.  2006 marked a record in store sales at their retail locations and new highs in participation for their race management group.

They are the Ravenswood Run, the Fleet Feet Sports Soldier Field 10 Mile, the Fleet Feet Sports Women’s 5k, 10k & Festival, the Elvis Is Alive 5K and Pumpkins In the Park.

Scheuerlein received his law degree from Syracuse University in 1984 and has worked as an attorney for the law firm of Cantwell & Cantwell (Chicago, IL) for the past 23 years. He is married to Mindy Faber, a Peabody award-winning independent video producer. The couple and their son reside in Evanston. Scheuerlein also has a daughter who works at an immigration law firm in Chicago.
