The Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) is proud to announce the affiliation of one new regular member and the affiliation of one new federation: FILA and the Turkish Registered Trademark Association (Tmd). This takes the total number of Regular Members to 18.

Established in 1911 by the brothers Fila, the company's original focus was on making fine fabrics in Biella, Italy. Through innovative design, luxurious materials and attention to detail, Fila has been synonymous with authentic European sport and luxury for four decades. FESI is delighted that FILA have decided to join the Federation and is looking forward to working with this company on a whole range of issues through our seven working committees.

The Turkish Registered Trademark Association (Tmd) was founded in 2001 in Turkey. The main purpose of this association is to create intensive solution bases for intellectual property issues amongst the textile and sports brands that suffer counterfeiting in Turkey. The representatives of the sports brands in Turkey have created a sub-committee in order to focus on fighting the counterfeiting of sporting goods.

Today Tmd has become a reputable authority on IP-related issues in Turkey and works in cooperation with all government authorities in harmony (See www.tmd-tr.com).
