Fanzz, the fan chain owned by the parent of the Utah Jazz, is acquiring Just Sports, another fan chain that operates 27 stores in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Fanzz has 94 stores in 19 Western states.

Terms were not disclosed.

The acquired stores' name will remain the same. Fanzz said it will enhance the Just Sports stores' merchandise by mid-October.  It intends to remodel and upgrade those stores over the next several months while retaining the Just Sports name.

“As one of the largest sports apparel and merchandise retailers in the country, Fanzz is committed to enhancing the customer experience and delivering the best products to sports fans in Seattle,” Fanzz President Bob Hyde said in a press release.

Upon completion of the deal, Fanzz will employ more than 900 people, including approximately 225 full-time workers, according to a report in Deseret News. With annual sales between $18 million and $20 milion from Just Sports, projected sales for the combined entity could top $100 million annually, according to the report.

Fanzz is part of the Larry H. Miller Group, the Sandy, UT based company that owns the Utah Jazz and other sports interests, and also operates car dealerships and movie theaters, and manages real estate properties.
