Alabama-based Exxel Outdoors is donating its sleeping bags, tents, blankets and apparel to the victims of the horrific tornado destruction in the American South.

Exxel is also calling on other companies to donate as much as they can to the victims of last weeks deadly series of tornados, one of most significant tornado outbreaks in recent U.S. history.

Many businesses have been extremely generous in donating products and services to help natural disasters victims both abroad and here at home, said Exxel Outdoors CEO Harry Kazazian.  Now its time for us all to dig in and help our neighbors in the American South at their time of immense need.

Exxel Outdoors American factory and eastern U.S. distribution center is located in the midst of the disaster region, in Haleyville, AL.  The Exxel facility narrowly escaped the tornados that damaged local structures and obliterated towns just a few miles away.  Across the South there are mass injuries, fatalities, as well as loss of homes, businesses and worldly possessions.

We were so fortunate that all our factory lost was our electricity.  But we knew our neighbors had been hit hard and could really use our gear for survival and comfort, added Kazazian.  So we managed to find a generator to power up our warehouse and be in a position to distribute any items that would help the rescue and relief efforts.

Over the years, with its factory and warehouse in Alabama, Exxel has been able to get gear donations out to victims of natural disasters in the Western hemispheres almost immediately, including the recent Colombia floods, the Haiti earthquake and Hurricane Katrina.

Here are two web pages that list organizations taking donations for the tornado victim relief and recovery efforts:
