Shield Sights reports that its new 26,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Crewkerne, England, is now fully operational.
“This milestone marks a major investment in the future of British manufacturing and reaffirms Shield’s commitment to designing, assembling and manufacturing all of its products in the United Kingdom,” the company said in a media release.
The new facility consolidates manufacturing, design, assembly, quality control, packaging, and customer service, creating a more efficient, collaborative environment that supports Shield’s global growth.
“Bringing this facility fully online represents the next chapter for Shield Sights,” said company CEO James White. “This expansion strengthens our manufacturing capability, supports local employment and ensures that our products continue to be proudly designed, manufactured and assembled right here in the United Kingdom.”
The company said its growth has mirrored the global adoption of red dot sights on handguns and sporting firearms. In the last five years, the company has “increased its workforce, driven by OEM partnerships, government contracts, and the continued rise of personal defense optics.”
Shield Sights remains an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer and an NSSF Patron Member. The Crewkerne facility will strengthen local supply chains, bringing new opportunities to the regional economy in Southwest England.”
Historically, Shield Sights has been U.K.-based and will remain so. The new facility is 10 miles from the company’s manufacturing factory in Dorset, in southwest England.
